Our story.

How we see the world, our business philosophy and a lot of stuff about truth.

Purposely successful.

We want to leave the world better than we found it. Everybody says it, but we actually mean it.

For real.

“Purposely successful” may sound suspiciously like nonsensical marketing jargon, but to us it means finding success through living your true purpose. We find effective solutions to business problems through strategy, tech, design thinking and good old-fashioned creativity.

Why the way we work, works.

Some time ago we discovered that planner + creative = awesome, and we’ve been uniting smart people with diverse skill sets ever since. This shift in agency structure means that we can deliver on our promise of “purposely successful” solutions for our clients.

Recent project teams at Meerkats have included filmmakers, musicians, architects, tattoo artists, product developers, electrical engineers, inventors and entrepreneurs. When you put these teams alongside strategists, designers, copywriters, producers, interface designers, UX specialists, and web developers, amazing things can happen.

In the beginning...

In 2004, Brand Planner Ronnie Duncan and Creative Director Mike Edmonds were worried (more than usual). A new breed of super-connected consumer was beginning to see through conventional advertising techniques, rendering them increasingly ineffectual.

For months they beavered away in a little wooden shed in Freo… and emerged as Meerkats.

While a lot of agencies responded with ever-more elaborate ways to interrupt people, Meerkats built its entire offering on one word.

Truth.
